Winter Check-in for 1st Year College Students

On December 22nd, 2019 CPC & EBF held a holiday event to celebrate 1st year college students who have completed their first semester in college. An event highlight was a panel discussion of students and peer mentors. They candidly shared their college experience including any challenges with transition to college. The panelists also offered some helpful advice to their fellow students. These included setting priorities, taking time for self-care, reaching out to the professors for help and making use of college resources. The festive event was well attended by students on winter break from school. A total of 58 students attended including 32 students from our College Resilience Program who had participated in our summer college transition events. Other attendees included mentors, high school seniors and friends/classmates of College Resilience Program participants.
